MAYDAY: SYDNEY, NSW 2016

Mayday is allus purely belter! An' 2016 were no exception. Despite yon media clowns saying' hoondreds turned out to make a fuss about work place things; Belgo Geordie counted 5000 at the Sydney rally as he went back and forth from one end of the march to other.  An nay Nookie brun was involved in the head count. The range of concerns to do with workers rights was broad and puts oos in good heart for election that has joost bin called. It were good to see youth out, babes in arms and the old timers an all the motley unionists in-between.

It were a broader range of unions and groups represented and in bigger numbers. The "Asian Women at Work" contingent in their bright tangerine shirts, Turkish communists, Iranian democrats and communists with international issues and local issues mixing in like Millers Point and public housing. Even the rain pulled back and it turned out to be slow march up to Victoria Park on Broadway.
